Describe various definitions and concepts of information.
This was a tough one to pick an appropriate artifact for, because it kind of seems like everything I’ve done in school to date involves describing information. So I could go on for a while on this topic, if only you could be a little more specific. However, when in doubt, it never hurts to be as literal as possible, so here’s a paper I wrote for LIS 882 Metadata for Digital Resources, giving an executive summary of two metadata schemes currently is use. OWL is a sophisticated markup language for defining formal taxonomies to be used in the Semantic Web. PBCore is a metadata standard developed by public broadcasters to create an easy way for hem to share archival material with each other.
